Patricia Dando - Founder
Patricia Dando has been an accomplished Uechi Ryu practitioner for approximately 20 years under Grandmaster George E Mattson, whom awarded her with her Godan rank , Shihan Certificate and Renshi Title.
She, alongside her husband, teach children and adults at their personal home dojo, teach private lessons and run zoom classes monthly.
She also continues learning and polishing her skills by regularly attending classes with Sensei Mattson and seeks out seminars and educational opportunities with master instructors.
Demonstrating her ongoing commitment to the art of Uechi Ryu, Patricia has founded the international organization - Women of Uechi. This organization is dedicated to promoting and uplifting women in our art. She tirelessly works to develop awareness and growth to the organization. She is a voice of encouragement to all
women whether on the floor or behind the scenes.
George E. Mattsson - Chairman
Grandmaster George E. Mattson has over 60 years of experience teaching Okinawan Uechi-ryu Karate in America; and is known as the father of Uechi Ryu in the United States. He also has over 20 years teaching online to students all over the world.
Located in Florida, USA, Sensei Mattson also teaches groups and individuals at the Shubukan dojo. He hosts the Florida USA Winterfest every year in March and is the author of several books.
